Parish Share

Our parishes are expected to pay to the Diocese of Salisbury an annual sum known as the parish share, or fairer share.

In 2020, the parish share for North Bradley, Southwick and Heywood is £32,435, and for Steeple Ashton £24,511.

This is each parish’s contribution towards the cost of maintaining ministry, and includes clergy stipends and pensions, the upkeep of vicarages, the training of new priests, deacons and lay ministers, and provision of continuing ministry development. These items constitute 80-90% of the annual budget of each diocese.

It is very important that each parish should make it a priority to pay its share and in that way continue its support for ministry.

This link to a paper discussed at Diocesan Synod shows how parish share is determined for each parish.
